MODINA project started; calls for collaborators
The MODINA project (Movement, Digital Intelligence and Interactive Audience) started in the 1st April 2023. MODINA aims to expand the creative possibilities for contemporary dance performances, and augment the experience for the audience, using digital technology – with an emphasis on exploring artificial intelligence and audience interaction, on-site and online.
Tallinn University is the coordinating partner of the project, with Nuno Correia of DTL3 as Principal Investigator. MODINA is composed of 7 additional partners: Tallinn University (Estonia); Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (Estonia); Hochschule Düsseldorf – HSD (Germany); tanzhaus nrw (Germany); Interactive Technologies Institute – ITI (Portugal); Kino Šiška (Slovenia); Trafó House (Hungary); and Centrul Naţional al Dansului Bucureşti (Romania). MODINA is a 3-year project, co-funded by the European Union with €1 million.
Currently, we have 2 calls open in the scope of MODINA: 1) a call for a fully-funded PhD in Movement and Computational Creativity (deadline: 29/June), and 2) a call for artist residencies (deadline: 24/May). For more information, please check our website https://modina.eu, and follow us on the social networks listed there (there’s also a mailing list).
