Judging SLERD Students’ Demo Contest as a Robot!!
Doctoral student Marwa Soudi has been a judge at SLERD students’ demo contest while being a telerobot and it was an incredible experience! Marwa was able to move around the conference hall, visit different booths, and even network with other attendees – all while sitting at her desk 1000s of miles away from the venue! The telerobot allowed her to feel like she was actually there. It’s amazing how technology is making events like this more accessible to everyone. For this special edition of the Student Design Context organized by Tallinn University individuals and teams of students (master’s and PhD students) were invited to submit proofs of concept or demos on ethical aspects of smart learning ecosystems with an emphasis on algorithmic (#AI) solutions. Marwa was supported at the venue by Prof.Merja Bauters who was also orchestrating the contest.
The judging panel included Päivi Kousa, Mihai Dascalu, Gabriella Dodero, and Tania Di Mascio.
