Staff mobility for LIFE supervisors on 10-13 May 2023
From 10th to 13th May 2023, Anar Abilakimova, a Junior Researcher at DTL3, took part in a staff mobility program at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. LIFE is a study course where students from different study areas collaborate with academics to carry out projects focusing on interdisciplinary problems of their own interest. Overall objectives of the mobility:
- Interdisciplinary learning and teaching
- Design based education
- Learning environment that supports interdisciplinary studies
- Possibilities for cooperation
Interactions with colleagues from various departments at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences provided valuable insights and expanded our comprehension of design-based education (DBE). These colleagues generously shared their experiences and expertise on topics such as self-regulated learning, self-assessment, embracing diversity, implementing an open-door policy, and adopting a hands-on “learning by doing” approach. Upon returning, the LIFE supervisors and coordinators engaged in collaborative discussions to reflect on their own experiences, identify key takeaways, and plan the next steps for enhancing the LIFE program at TLU.
